Welcome to Simplify Saturday, on a Sunday. I know, I know… I’m a day off but I have a great excuse. We got back from our Spring Break vacation on Friday night and after 16 hours of driving, I just didn’t have it in me to write a post up yesterday. I figured you wouldn’t mind if this once, I shared something I love with you on Sunday instead? Are we ok? Good!

So, you all know from past posts that I’m a big fan of the SimpleHuman brand and that I am focusing on simplifying my life in 2013. Although I have been a SimpleHuman customer for years, it wasn’t until this year that I encountered products with their sensor technology. Simplify Saturday: Hoover Twin Tank Steam Mop

Each Simplify Saturday, I feature a product, app, website, book, etc. that has helped me to live my 2013 focus word of Simplify. This week I am sharing a product that helps me simplify one of my least favorite tasks… mopping the floor.

Our house is mostly hardwood floors. As much as I love hardwood floors, I absolutely hate cleaning them. Simplify Saturday – The Kindle Paperwhite

If you follow Dine & Dish at all, you know I love to read. For today’s Simplify Saturday I’m telling you about the Kindle Paperwhite… a wonderful little e-reader that has simplified the way I read books.

Let me preface this post by saying I have tried and owned numerous e-readers before. We have one of the original Kindles, a second Kindle (my husbands), a Kindle Fire (my sons), a Nook and the Kindle app on the iPad. Until getting the Kindle Paperwhite, I really wasn’t a fan of e-books. I enjoyed the convenience of being able to download an e-book whenever I needed one but reading on the devices I listed just didn’t feel natural to me. I didn’t like the flow, layout, functionality of the other devices. Plus, I found with the devices that were more than just e-readers (Kindle Fire and iPad apps) I would get too distracted by the other apps and things on the devices, which would cut into the time I would spend reading. Even with all of those devices on hand, I found myself turning back to “real” books instead of my e-reader….

Simplify Saturday: The 30/30 Time Management App

Today on Simplify Saturday, I’m sharing a time management tool that has helped me to simplify my work schedule.

With my job and work schedule, I have the fortunate / unfortunate pleasure of getting to spend parts of my day on some serious time sucking websites. Blog reading, Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and even Instagram can be considered part of the work I do for Dine & Dish and my other freelance jobs. As much as I enjoy browsing sites and interacting with others through social media, it is a challenge for me to not get sucked in. Sometimes, before I know it, an hour has passed by when I initially intended to just “check Twitter real quick”.

Simplify Saturday – SimpleHuman

Today I’d like to introduce you to a new feature on Dine & Dish…Simplify Saturday! On Simplify Saturday, I will feature something that is simplifying my life… it could be a product, an app, a book, a website…anything that I come across that is helping me to live my 2013 focus word of “Simplify”.

Today, I’d like to introduce you to the SimpleHuman brand. If there is a brand out there that is focused on simplifying life at home, SimpleHuman is that brand.

When I was approached by SimpleHuman to partner with them on some of the work they are doing as a brand, I jumped on the chance. We’ve had SimpleHuman products in our house for several years now, so this relationship fit in seamlessly with our family.

SimpleHuman is a company who believes that everyday life has room for improvement. Tools like their sensor and step trashcans, their senor soap pumps, and other various products for the kitchen and bath, were all created out of a need for a more efficient product.
