I make a concoction that tastes very similar to a Frosty. Spoon out some chocolate ice cream. You need a mild, milk chocolate flavor, not a fancy dark chocolate. Honestly, cheap ice cream works best. Pour in just a splash of Dr. Pepper and stir. If the mixture is too thick, add some more cola. Quick and close to the real thing. Cherry coke works, too, but the Dr. Pepper works better.

I wonder if it would work? Similar concept with rock salt and ice. Difference is the churned bit is around the outside of the machine so you can see it. I gotta try this!

I don’t have an ice cream machine and I watched a video that said no worries put mixture into a plastic bag and knead it during the freezing process.. I did this and it turned out wonderful… it was a perfect cool and refreshing treat for a hot summer day…..

I am going to try it tonight. I too hate the taste of Cool Whip with all the chemical crap in it. I am sure it will work just fine because most of the recipes for ice cream made in the maker calls for milk or cream…not Cool Whip.
