When it comes to holiday cocktails, I don’t want the same old same old. I want something a little different… a little more exciting and memorable. I’d say maybe even a little more indulgent. After all, the holidays are a time to celebrate and enjoy!

Weight Watchers Tips for the Holidays

Weight Watchers tips for keeping healthy habits during the holiday. A special thanks to my friends at Celestial Seasonings for sponsoring this post.

Over the past week since announcing that I’ve joined Weight Watchers, I’ve had several emails of support and also questions from people wondering why I chose Weight Watchers. Obviously, there are so many different options for weight loss support out there… why Weight Watchers?

Well, my answer is easy. I need a program that allows some flexibility when it comes to food. As a food blogger and food photographer, I am around food ALL the time. Good food. Really good food. And I have a hard time with the thought of eliminating certain categories of food or food altogether for shakes and supplements when my job relies on me being able to create, taste and appreciate food. In short, I need to be on a program that teaches me moderation, but doesn’t teach me elimination. I need to learn how to be around food without letting it control me. I need to be the one in control. I definitely need to start developing healthy habits that last a lifetime. It may sound completely cliche, but I know I am beginning a lifestyle change, not dieting….

This past week I had the chance to visit the Celestial Seasonings Headquarters, one of the largest specialty tea manufacturers in North America. One of my favorite things about my job is getting to see the “behind the scenes” of brands I love and use everyday. Opportunities like these…to meet the people and see the hard work and dedication that goes into bringing my favorite cup of tea to life is something I really love. I could never imagine all the thought and effort that goes into something that gives me my most simple of pleasures each day, like tea time.

The people at Celestial Seasonings were as warm and welcoming as their tea… they made us feel so comfortable and appreciated. Driving up to the facilities was especially humbling as the entire company was standing outside, holding signs and cheering our arrival. I was so touched and I know the other bloggers I was with felt the same way. For a corporation this big to stop their production line to welcome us is a pretty big deal.

We took in a lot of great information during our day, but I’d like to share 5 fun facts I learned while on my tour. I hope you can learn a few things about Celestial Seasonings and you just might learn how you’ve been making your tea wrong all these years, like me!…

It’s Tea Time – Bigelow® and Celestial Seasonings® K-Cup® Giveaway

Ahhhhhhh… I love a cup of hot tea. There is something about sitting down to sip on hot tea that is instantly calming and soothing. It forces you to slow down, to savor and to just breathe for a few minutes. I think everyone could use a little tea time, don’t you?

Although I have always been a tea drinker, my hot tea consumption has increased since getting the Keurig Brewer last year. Sure, there is some nostalgia to the whistling kettle on the stove top, but I enjoy how with the Keurig and Bigelow® or Celestial Seasonings® K-Cup® packs I can easily make myself a cup of hot tea in just a minute….
