Exactly one year ago May 1st, I started a journey of a lifetime. Yes, I got my very first tattoo, but more importantly I started my own 1 Second Everyday Video project.

My friend Cheryl was into her second year of capturing 1 second of video memories everyday. I fell in love with her very first 365 day compilation and decided I wanted to give this kind of video project a try as well. I am so very glad I did. Doing a 1 Second Everyday video project has probably been one of the most fun and meaningful projects I’ve ever embarked on. …

Our Life in Photos #Imperfect366 Week 7

A look back at our week 7 in photos as part of the #Imperfect366 No Rules Photography Project plus other snaps from the week. Check out the over 1200 photos submitted on Instagram.

I broke my no-rules rules many times this week…my goal was to take most of my Imperfect 366 pictures with my Nikon DSLR, but it just didn’t happen this week for some reason. I did need to remember though that iPhone pictures are better than no pictures, right? I decided to just go with it, and hopefully this coming week I’ll get back on the DSLR game. If not, still no sweat. That’s the great thing about a “no rules” photography project!

The cupcake picture is from my Rock Your Happy newsletter from Friday. I tackled the topic of “busy bragging” and saying goodbye to it, for good. If you are interested in reading the newsletter, you can check it out here and can even subscribe if you are interested. I send these “happy letters” out just once a week and really love writing them. I hope you love receiving them!

Unravel Your Photos: Lesson 1 No File Left Behind

Today I’m sharing what I’ve learned about photo organization so far from lesson one of the Unravel Your Photos boot camp at Life Captured, Inc.

Friends, my photos are so out of control. Ridiculously out of control. I take hundreds of photos every week…a lot for work, but most of the pictures are for the simple reason that I want to capture as many memories “on film” as possible. The problem is, I capture these memories and then the photos I don’t share on Instagram or Snapchat (follow my stories – dineanddish) stay hidden on my hard drive, with little hope of ever being seen again. What’s the point of that? Why have photos that no one can ever enjoy?

Well, I recently started a new boot camp class through Life Captured Inc to help me Unravel My Photos. I’m desperate to get my photos under control and I’m discovering that the first step, and it’s a BIG one, has all to do with photo organization. Life Captured has partnered with Artifact Uprising (both pros at capturing and preserving memories) and I’m excited to learn everything they know about unraveling my photos!…

#ThisIs40 Photography Project {Week 1}

So… I turned 40 last week and oh what a week it was! I spent a week away, part with friends, part with my husband and had a lot of time to think and reflect and plan. I couldn’t imagine a better way to spend my birthday! With the thinking came a few regrets. One of those being that I really, really miss doing the Project 365 photo project and sharing it on Dine & Dish with you all. They were never my most popular posts… I know you all come here for the food… but they were one of my favorites.

I’ve decided to start a new daily photo project called #ThisIs40 and I plan on documenting the next 365 days of my life through photos. Today is the first installment. As always I’d love for you to follow me on Instagram…my favorite social media platform. I’m going to try to take most of my pictures for this project with my DSLR Camera (so they won’t be on IG), but there are always some fun things I might share on Instagram with the hashtag #ThisIs40 that I won’t share here.

So with all that said, here we go! Thanks for coming along for my 40th year! …
