It’d be fair to say that my mobile phone is with me pretty much all the time. It’d be also fair to say that one of my biggest pet peeves is when my kids have been playing with my phone, then hand it back to me completely out of battery… especially when I’m headed out the door and hoped to use it to take pictures while I was out.

As a freelancer who works on assignment as well as from home and as a mom with small children, being connected during the day or being able to be reached in case of an emergency is pretty important. Having a charge on my phone makes that possible. The IOGEAR Portable Battery Mobile Phone Charger helps to keep my phone charged so I can be connected with the world when I want to be. I have become pretty dependent on this powerful little device.

This is what I love about my IOGEAR charger:

It’s very small and lightweight. It’s not much bigger than the size of a normal business card. Fits right in a pocket!

It charges my devices quickly

I can use it for various phone types as well as devices besides my phone – bundled with interchangeable connectors, it can charge virtually any Motorola, BlackBerry, Samsung, Windows, Apple, or Android mobile device

When my IOGEAR is fully charged, I can fully charge my mobile phone with it up to two times before having to recharge the IOGEAR device

It’s saved me so many times when I needed my phone and it was out of battery… it’s reliable, functional and perfect for my on the go lifestyle!

Thanks for entering.

I can’t believe I am opening this post with a picture of my bare feet. You see, I have had serious foot confidence issues for most of my life. When I was in 3rd grade, I was at my Grandma’s when a large, very heavy clay pot fell off a window sill and landed on my left foot. My big toe was smashed pretty badly and it wasn’t a pretty sight.

I don’t remember anyone every commenting on my feet, but as a kid I was very self conscious of them. Not only did I have the smashed toe thing going on, I also had big feet for a girl. In addition to that, I came from a family of not pretty feet. It was just a fact I had to deal with.

For my entire childhood, after the clay pot incident, I never, ever wore any type of shoe that would show my toes. If I had to go barefoot, like at the pool or something, I would make sure to cover my feet with a towel or jump in the pool really fast. More often than not, I was wearing out socks all the time because I’d wear socks without shoes outside in the yard, around our house, etc.

Luckily, in college, I discovered the joy of a professional pedicure. Oh, you can bet I was a self conscious mess during the first several pedicures… making excuses and what not for how ugly I felt my feet were. But, I never felt so pretty in my life than I did after my first pedicures. I discovered the joy of open toed sandals and walking barefoot in the sand. I enjoyed laying out and not getting a sock tan line. I enjoyed a lovely thing called foot confidence! (OK – I just made that up but I bet there is such a thing as foot confidence).

With four kids, a budget, and busy schedules, making it to the spa to get a pedicure doesn’t happen nearly as often as I’d like. That’s why, when I discovered Sandal Essence I knew I wanted to share this foot magic with you all! Sandal Essence isn’t for ugly toes, but it is for dry, cracked, flip flop ruined heels. Exactly the kind of heels you do NOT want sticking out of your sandals this summer. I’ve been using Sandal Essence for a few weeks now and can tell you it is the best product I’ve tried for keeping my heels moisturized. I absolutely love it. I apply a small amount once a day and it has kept my feet in tip top shape in between pedicures.

I’m happy to let you know my friends at Sandal Essence have offered to give 3 lucky Dine & Dish readers a container of Sandal Essence! You want pretty feet this summer, right? Well, this is the product to help you with that!

We welcomed a beautiful new appliance into our home today. Say hello to “Fran”, our new Frigidaire Gallery 30″ Freestanding Electric Double Oven Range. (I named her Fran… it fits, don’t you think?)

I got an email a while back notifying me that the folks at Frigidaire wanted me to be one of the lucky bloggers to test drive their new double oven. I have wanted / needed a double oven for so long and am thrilled to have one as gorgeous as this in my house now. Holiday bread, cookie and turkey baking will be such a breeze this year!

Some of the signature features of the Frigidaire Symmetry Double Oven are:

Symmetry Double Ovens – Two large ovens, each big enough to cook a 28-pound turkey, provide the flexibility to cook multiple dishes at the same time at different temperatures.

Fits-More™ Cooktop – With five elements including two SpaceWise® Expandable elements and a Warming Zone so you can cook more at once.

Precision Set™ Controls – Adjust heat levels more precisely, providing exceptional temperature control.

Quick Preheat – Preheat in just four minutes. (I am most excited about this… I tend to be a little impatient waiting for my oven to preheat!)

Over the next few months I will be sharing with you my experience using my new Frigidaire oven. I think the first thing I am going to make is a batch of my favorite dinner rolls!

All of the new features are so great, but I forgot to share the feature my girls are most excited about…

The new huge box to play in! The box is keeping them entertained while Fran and I get to know each other. It’s a win-win, don’t you think?

I got a couple of emails after I posted my “kid friendly” menu on Monday. I guess I should have clarified. I know that my definition of kid friendly and other parents definition of kid friendly can be completely different things. I have been very blessed in the fact that my kids are not picky. They eat just about anything I put in front of them, but part of that is because I don’t cater to their tastes. I cook the recipes I want to cook, and they know that they at least have to try everything on their plate. I don’t make something different for them if they don’t like what we are having for dinner. I do always have fruit and vegetable options available that I know they will eat (so they don’t “starve”), but for the most part, they generally like our meals and eat what is put in front of them. I know I’d better count my blessings because my good fortune with picky eaters is sure to change when they get older. We will cross that bridge when we come to it, but for now I’ll continue cooking the way I do.

Lunch time is when we go for the all out kids fare at our house. Chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese, PB&J… they get to have the limelight at lunch time. One very kid friendly recipe that my kids go crazy for are Extra Cheesy Crescent Mozzarella Wedges. I love it too because it is so easy to put together and really tastes great.

The ingenious people over at Pillsbury have created a product to make this recipe (and ones like it) even more simple. Crescent Recipe Creations… a product just like the Pillsbury crescent rolls, but with out the perferated seams. Isn’t that brilliant? This will make making the Extra Cheesy Crescent Mozzarella Wedges, Grandma Doyle’s Breakfast Pizza, and more recipes like that so much easier!

The folks at Pillsbury sent me some other great products to try out. Stay tuned for what is new at Pillsbury!
