When I turned 39, I wrote that one of my goals for the next year was to really nurture my friendships. I’ve been putting relationships with my girlfriends on the back burner for far too long, even though I know how important time with girlfriends can be.

College has always been a fact of life for me. Choosing to not go to college wasn’t an option… it was just a given in my family. You graduated high school and the next step was college.

My parents weren’t wealthy… I know that there was financial strain put on them but education was important to them so they sacrificed and saved to make it happen. Like any parent, they had big dreams for us and they knew that a college education would help us to make our dreams come true.
