Ingredients
2cupsAll-Purpose Flour
1 1/2teaspoonsBaking Powder
1teaspoonKosher salt
1/4cupbutter flavored Crisco
12ouncesbeerI used Shiner Bock
10slicesThick Cut Baconfried and crumbled
1cupMild Cheddar Cheeseshredded
3Tablespoonsbuttermelted
1TablespoonTabasco sauce
Instructions
Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt. Use a pastry cutter to cut in the shortening until it is all combined.
Slowly pour in the beer. Stir until well combined.
Stir in crumbled bacon and cheddar cheese. Combine.
Using a small ice cream scoop, scoop out dough and place on a Silpat lined baking sheet (or a baking sheet lightly sprayed with Pam Cooking Spray). Bake in a preheated 375° oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
While the biscuits are baking, combine melted butter and Tabasco sauce. Remove the baked biscuits from the oven and brush each with the Tabasco/Butter mixture. Place the biscuits back into the oven for 2-3 minutes. Serve warm.
