Awesome recipe. I had never made custard from scratch and it came out delicious. Lots of meringue too. Bring me back to my mom's kitchen. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe!

I think I used this recipe once and the taste and meringue were good. I had an issue with my bananas having a weird texture. I was thinking it was from putting them in the hot pudding and then in the oven. Do you have any issues with the bananas? They were kind of rubbery/stryrofoamy odd texture. They might have been a little on the under ripe side. I don't recall. My husband loves meringue on his banana cream so I'd like to figure this out!

In reply to <a href="https://www.dineanddish.net/banana-cream-pie-recipe/#comment-514962">Liz</a>.

HI Liz,
Here's what sweet Joyce shared with me via email awhile back:
I want to tell you that my mom found a secret to good meringue that will never weep! Rather than putting sugar in the meringue she added a half cup of Marshmallow creme to the egg whites and beat it up the same way. It makes it even more fluffy and has a great taste.. A free hint for you to try!

Hi Josh! I bake at 400 for about 12-14 minutes. I saw this really great tutorial a few months ago that might help https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/2018/03/05/how-to-blind-bake-pie-crust/
