Project 365 2020: Our Life In Photos January 13th – 19th

Project 365 2020 is a photo a day project I am participating in using mostly my Nikon DSLR. Here is a look at our life in photos from January 13th – January 19th 2020.

This past week was one of those weeks where it was just so bitter cold out and dreary…I wanted to pull the covers up over my head and stay in bed all week. I just wasn’t feeling it. It didn’t help that my favorite little potted plant got knocked off the shelf by Shady and broke. Kelly made “Meep” in her ceramics class and I just love him so! Thankfully Nick was able to glue him back together. I’m hoping he stays safe from now on.

This week in pictures isn’t very exciting because I really tried to avoid leaving the house as much as possible. With an extra day off school for “ice”, that wasn’t too hard of a task. Here below is our week in pictures for Project 365 January 13th-19th….

Project 365 is a photo a day project I am participating in using mostly my Nikon DSLR. Here is a look at our life in photos from January 1st – January 11th 2020.

The other day, I was looking through some of my 14 years of blog posts and kept coming across my old Project 365 photos from years past. Looking at the pictures from the photo a day projects I participated in made me so happy. In an effort to reclaim this space, focusing on things that make me happy, I’ve decided in 2020 to participate once again.

The following are my photos from January 1st – 11th. I’m not going to hold myself to super strict rules or standards, but one goal I have is to pull out my DSLR more often to shoot instead of always using my handy camera phone. We’ll see how well I do! Here is my first week of Project 365 2020. …

Our 1 Second Everyday Video Project

Exactly one year ago May 1st, I started a journey of a lifetime. Yes, I got my very first tattoo, but more importantly I started my own 1 Second Everyday Video project.

My friend Cheryl was into her second year of capturing 1 second of video memories everyday. I fell in love with her very first 365 day compilation and decided I wanted to give this kind of video project a try as well. I am so very glad I did. Doing a 1 Second Everyday video project has probably been one of the most fun and meaningful projects I’ve ever embarked on. …

Living In Excess – My Personal Struggle

I’ve had this post rattling around in my brain for quite some time. At this point I never know if it will actually get published, but I have to at least get these thoughts out of my head.

You see, I’m living in excess and I am struggling so hard with that right now. Excess food, excess weight, excess time on the internet, excess stuff in my house, etc. Excess seems to be my new norm and that excess all stems from my job.

I have a job focused on food… I cook and photograph pretty things for the internet. I make food for sustenance, yet I also make food for clicks, likes, pins and validation. Food is my currency. Each and every one of my days is focused around viewing others food, making food, pinning food, reading about food, eating food, trying to avoid eating food, etc. Because of my job as a food photographer and food blogger, food is something that has brought me so much joy and opportunity. It’s also something that has been a constant struggle for me….

Our Life in Photos #Imperfect366 Week 7

I broke my no-rules rules many times this week…my goal was to take most of my Imperfect 366 pictures with my Nikon DSLR, but it just didn’t happen this week for some reason. I did need to remember though that iPhone pictures are better than no pictures, right? I decided to just go with it, and hopefully this coming week I’ll get back on the DSLR game. If not, still no sweat. That’s the great thing about a “no rules” photography project!

The cupcake picture is from my Rock Your Happy newsletter from Friday. I tackled the topic of “busy bragging” and saying goodbye to it, for good. If you are interested in reading the newsletter, you can check it out here and can even subscribe if you are interested. I send these “happy letters” out just once a week and really love writing them. I hope you love receiving them!
