Cupping at Green Mountain Coffee {Video and Discount Code}

I recently had my first ever “cupping” experience. Don’t worry… I haven’t gotten all strange on you. Cupping is simply a fancy word for a coffee tasting experience.

Kelby, Lisa and I are part of the Green Mountain Coffee bloggers ambassador team, and we joined up with our fearless Green Mountain Coffee leaders in Waterbury, VT for a weekend of sight seeing and Green Mountain Coffee experiences. I am even more impressed with Green Mountain Coffee than before! It truly is a great company doing really great things.

I took a ton of pictures on the trip, but unfortunately lost them all in the computer / iphone update issue I had last month. I do have a few short video clips  I compiled to share with you. I hope you enjoy our “cupping” experience!

You can join in a Green Mountain Coffee cupping experience of your own. Simply tune into the Barista Prima Facebook page on Tuesday, November 8th at 8am EST. Two-time Italian Barista Champion, Francesco Sanapo and Green Mountain Coffee’s own Sandy Yusen will conduct a virtual tasting for us, walking through the four Barista Prima Coffeehouse varieties.

Barista Prima Coffeehouse varieties happen to be part of the November discount for Dine & Dish readers. Use code AM0007-3571 on www.GreenMountainCoffee.com to receive a 15% discount on Barista Prime Coffeehouse K-Cup® portion packs as well as free standard shipping.  This code is valid now through November 30th, and may not be combined with any offer or discount including Café EXPRESS.

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Green Mountain Coffee. All opinions expressed are my own.

    How neat! What’s that liquid that you kept dipping your spoon in? Germ killa?

    And I’m sort of liking the word CUPPING a lot right now.

      Yes – it was something to rinse off the coffee residue and things so we could go on to the next cup 🙂

    What a fun experience, Kristen. Really, I can’t think of a better way to spend a day than sampling coffee – though, I might be a little jumpy by the end of the day.

      Well, technically you are supposed to spit (that’s what the pros were doing). I was shaking so bad from caffeine by the afternoon!

    I just had my first cupping a couple weeks ago with some friends starting a roasting business. I loved it! But I definitely need to work on my coffee vocab.

    I love seeing and experiencing behind the scenes. How did you like your first cupping experience? I don’t remember… you spit it out after tasting, right? (that or be seriously wired from a lot of tasting). 😉 LOL

    I love my Keurig (ok, technically, it’s my husband’s) and Green Mountain’s Nantucket Blend is my favorite K-cup. What a fun experience for you!

    How fun! You look so cute, Kristen! When I first saw the term “cupping,” it had popped out at me and I immediately thought of the other type of cupping — you’ll have to scroll down about halfway to see what I mean: http://goop.com/newsletter/39/
    EEK! Imagine my relief when I realized that it’s this kind of cupping instead! 🙂 I probably could do with a cup of coffee…..

    P.S. This is one of my dream jobs, except change the coffee for chocolates….. 🙂

    I bet I’m the only one who couldn’t figure out what that crazy sucking sound was… Am thinking it’s the ‘pro’ cuppers slurping?! Soooo funny.
