Godiva Chocolate Infused Vodka – Valentine’s Day Cocktails

  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • Yummly

Quick post here tonight, to let you know that I’ll be participating in a Girls Night Out Twitter party this evening. For more information about the Twitter party, you can visit the Mom It Forward blog. Join in from 8-10pm CST to find out how Godiva Chocolate and Valentine’s Day can go hand in hand! Plus, you can win a great Godiva Chocolate Giveaway – so head over to Mom it Forward and check it out!

This blogging job is rough, I tell ya’. Sometimes you’ve just got to do things that you just don’t want to do. Like create and taste test Godiva Chocolate truffles and cocktail recipes. I mean, I’ve been cooped up in my house with my four children bouncing off the walls as the snow storm of the century hits our region, and the last thing I would possibly want to do is drink a delicious cocktail. Right? Right? Right….

{A splash of Godiva Chocolate Raspberry Infused Vodka into a Coke or Diet Coke makes a delicious and simply sweet cocktail.}

But, duty calls and as the faithful blogger that I am, I wanted to at least taste the Godiva chocolate vodka before I shared it with you all at Girls Night Out tonight. I’ve had the Godiva Chocolate Liquor before and shared the recipe for Godiva Chocolate Martinis then, but this Godiva Chocolate Infused Vodka and Godiva Raspberry Chocolate Infused Vodka is quite all right. If you want to make the perfect cocktail to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your love (if I were Carrie Bradshaw I’d say “lovah”, but it just doesn’t sound right coming from me) or with your girlfriends to just complain about love, this is the liquor for you!

Whatever your stance on Valentine’s Day, celebrate responsibly (aka please don’t drink and drive and don’t go overboard on the alcohol) and bring some Godiva Chocolate Infused Vodka to your celebration… paired with some rich Godiva chocolate, it is the perfect Valentine’s Day beverage!

    GOOD CHOICE!
How hard would this be to take one – and you make it look so tantalizing with your gorgeous photography!
I’ve only had the thick creamy chocolate Liqueur from Godiva. Never seen their vodka in the Alberta Prairies, and I do study my liquors when I visit that store! YUM!!!
Little hot hearts would be a fun treat in the bottom of the glass, too… !
I think I have to phone around… and Vanja JUST got back from Phoenix yesterday and could have brought me some!

    1.5 oz. TY KU Soju
    1 oz. Chocolate Liqueur
And without whipped cream, it’s under 100 calories per drink. My friend and I made some testers over the weekend and YUM!! I’m in love

It’s a book giveaway! I often get people asking me for book recommendations. Talking books is one of my favorite things to do! So when @librofm gave me the opportunity to give away three audio copies of any audiobook I wanted to, I knew immediately which book I wanted to share.
.
@roblowe book, Stories I Only Tell My Friends is the audiobook I recommend to EVERYONE. It is a book I listened to years ago, not expecting to love it, but I absolutely did. First of all, Rob Lowe narrates...so there’s that lovely bonus. But Stories I Only Tell My Friends is a funny, raw, emotional, informative, peek inside of the life of a really fascinating celebrity.
.
I wasn’t a Rob Lowe super fan before. I haven’t watched West Wing (I know, I know), Brothers & Sisters, Parks & Rec, or any of his TV shows, but I have always been a HUGE Brat Pack fan. Well, after listening to this audiobook I am a big fan (and his other audiobook, Love Life, is great too).
.
Long story short, I have three codes through @librofm to give to 3 people. To enter, leave a comment on this post by midnight CST on 12/16 telling me what your favorite audiobook is and why! Also, definitely check out Libro.fm - the best audiobook platform that also gives back to local bookstores!

Alright, alright, alright! It’s time to talk about how we can support our local bookstore during the holidays and beyond! As you consider buying gifts this year, make sure you shop local for all the book people on your list! One unique and super easy way you can support your favorite local bookstores is with an audiobook subscription to @librofm Yes! Audiobooks! With Libro.fm you can financially support your local bookstore AND buy audiobooks all at the same time. Each audiobook purchase supports the independent book store of your choice! Do it for yourself and buy some audiobooks for friends too!
.

If you need audiobook ideas, hit me up. I’ve listened to so many great books this year that will make it on my top favorites list, including Greenlights by @officiallymcconaughey It’s narrated by the author and is so worth the listen! Your ears will thank you!
.
PS my favorite #localbookstore @rainydaybooks is under renovation which makes it even better that I can still safely support them from the comfort of my own home!

Have you ever dreamed of being a writer? 2 of the business coaching clients I’m currently working with have dreams of being a published fiction book author and cookbook author. Each week we’ve been chipping away at their big goals, making these dreams of theirs more and more of a reality. And each week I have this little nudging feeling inside that reminds me that writing a book was once a dream of mine...and I’ve gotten so far away from that dream. I barely even write anymore. Heck - writing an instagram caption is even a challenge. As someone who used to be a really good writer, that’s so frustrating to me. Where’d my voice go?
.

William Morrow Publishers recently sent me the book Make Me Rain: Poems and Prose by the incredibly gifted writer Nikki Giovanni. This book is full of poems and prose relevant to todays world. I imagined Giovanni walking around observing life, with a notebook tucked under her arm everywhere she went, and writing. Just pulling out the notebook and writing. I used to be that way and this beautiful book makes me want to write again.
.

Are you a writer? Do you journal, write poetry, write for fun, or are you working on a book? What does your writing practice look like? I think the biggest key for me is to just get back to it. Dedicate a time each day and at the very least just write - about life, observations, and more. Writer friends or journaling experts ...I’d love to hear what your writing practice looks like. Tips, tricks, ideas to help get what’s inside out on paper.
.

Thank you @williammorrowbooks for gifting me this beautiful book. It’s inspired and awakened something inside of me and I appreciate that so much!
