This gem of a Chocolate Oatmeal recipe reminds me of my childhood – but a much healthier version from the cookbook Healthier Chocolate Treats by Amy Atherton.

One of my earliest food memories as a child is sitting down to breakfast on a special day to a bowl of hot, chocolate oatmeal. These special breakfasts didn’t happen often, but I remember what a treat it was to see the bowl of chocolate oatmeal with a mini marshmallow happy face. Chocolate for breakfast? To a kid that’s like the best thing ever! As an adult, chocolate for breakfast is a pretty darn good thing too. That’s why I was happy to find this much healthier version of chocolate oatmeal in my friend Amy’s cookbook, Healthier Chocolate Treats.

As a chocolate lover, and as someone who is trying to eat a little healthier, Amy’s cookbook is a dream come true. Healthier Chocolate Treats is full of all of my favorite chocolate indulgences, but with a healthy twist. Cheesecake, brownies, granola bars, cupcakes, coffee cake and more…for those of you not wanting to sacrifice flavor but still want your chocolate treats to be healthy, this cookbook is for you!

I remember it from my childhood as well!
We only got it in the weekends though, but that was one of the best meals in week.
It is so kind of you to share that recipe. I will try it.
