It’s a great time to be a Kansas City Royals fan! Celebrate the World Series with this fun Royals Blue cocktail and a Kansas City Royals t-shirt and hat flash giveaway!

Kansas City Royals World Series Cocktail from dineanddish.net

If you live in Kansas City, you can’t help but to have caught Royals Fever. The Kansas City Royals post season games have been unbelievable! And here we are, in the World Series, which hasn’t happened for this team since 1985.

In fact, I was in 6th grade and I remember I liked a boy who was hugely excited that the Kansas City Royals were facing the St Louis Cardinals in the World Series. I had no clue what any of it meant, because well, I was a 6th grade girl and couldn’t be bothered by that kind of stuff. But, in order to get the attention of said boy, I pretended to be the BIGGEST Kansas City Royals super fan! I have vivid memories of talking to him in the hallway before class started about the games and being all twitter-pated that he was talking to me. Needless to say, the “relationship” didn’t really last much past the world series… I mean a girl can only fain interest in something she is clueless about for so long. I’m sure he eventually caught on.

Win a Kansas City Royals T-Shirt and Hat from dineanddish.net

Flash forward to 2014, and the Kansas City Royals are in the World Series again…and it’s a BIG deal! And again, I’m trying to get the attention of a boy, but this time it’s my 12 year old son. You see, it’s pretty cool when your mom knows a thing or two about sports. And when you can have common interests with your almost teenage son (which means conversations that get him saying more than a yes or no grunt answer), that’s a good thing!

I LOVE that shirt. and you are too cute. Plus, I used to pretend I liked dragons to get the interest of other boys. So clearly I was in the wrong crowd, HAH!

Fun fact…I used to keep score for my grandpa’s little league team, when it was all paper and pencil. That was a sure way that the boys on the team would notice 😉

I vividly remember watching the entire 1985 World Series in my basement, even though I’d had no interest in baseball up to that point! 🙂

Wouldn’t it be great fun to go to one of the games?! I was at the Padre game in 1984 when they won the pennant. Such a thrill for this baseball lover. BTW, I see the Chiefs beat the Chargers the other day, too. Good time to be KC fans!!

I was recalling to my kids, that through the last two games of the 1985 world series, I was at a fall Girl Scout camp out. We listened to the final two games in our tent on a radio… this year my oldest was at a Boyscout camp out, during one of the games ACLS games against the Orioles.

As a girl, George Brett was my dream man. Those blue eyes, that intensity. Hubba hubba. You can take Rick Springfield and Scott Baio. My man spits tobacco and uses pine tar. LOL

I read an article in the Boston Globe or maybe Sports Illustrated about him when I was 9 or 10. George said he used to stand at third base and hope the ball didn’t come his way. Eventually he realized, he could take anything hit at him and he’d mentally dare the batter to hit it down the line.

As a young softball player who was afraid to make a mistake at third base, this totally resonated with me. I changed my attitude and became a much better fielder as a result. That season, I tried to get #5 in his honor but someone else had it. So I always wore #6 to be just one away from George but still my own number.

I’m a Red Sox fan at heart but I’m rooting for KC this week.

I am a diehard Royals fan having grown up here in KC. We’ve went to Opening Day every year for the last 10 years (probably more)! We used to campout overnight to be at the front of the line (before they put a stop to it). It even snowed on us one year but we didn’t care.

I love the way our city has united around our Royals. I love the way the guys interact with one another and their fans. We got to go the Wild Card game, an ALDS game, and an ALCS game. I really wish I could make a World Series game. I definitely need some new Royals gear and love that shirt!

    GO ROYALS!!

I’m glad to see this give-away. I like the ’47 Brand products and I was disappointed that they didn’t really have any Post Season Royals specific items on their page…b/c they have teams that didn’t make it as far, we just didn’t get any love…so, I like that they are making it up in a small way.
