Save the Date for Soup-a-Palooza

  • Twitter

Baby, it’s cooooold outside! I think it is high time we celebrate one of our favorite comfort foods.…… SOUP!

Soup is one of those things that everyone can equate back to their childhood. My mom always made the best chicken noodle soup, served on our silver “sick tray” in bed when we were under the weather. When you come in from a cold day of snow fort building, what do you want? Soup!

Soup, stew, chili, chowder…….have all been staples in our diets for centuries and can be the perfect appetizer or a quick and easy meal.
On February 15th Cheryl of Tidy Mom and I would like to invite YOU to share your favorite soup recipes!!

and like every great party……..there will be PRIZES from some fabulous sponsors!!

Bush’s Beans, Hip Hostess, Pillsbury and Westminster Crackers

How to Participate in Soup-a-Palooza

1. Write and post a recipe on your blog featuring a soup, stew, chili, or chowder. You can have up to two soup entries! Each soup entry enters you into the drawing for some great prizes!

2. Include “Come join Soup-a-Palooza at TidyMom and Dine and Dish sponsored by Bush’s Beans, Hip Hostess, Pillsbury and Westminster Crackers” in your blog post. If you use an old soup post for the Soup-a-Palooza, please just go in and add the above phrase to that post.

3. On Feb 15th add your link to your soup post to the widget on either TidyMom or Dine and Dish (we have the same widget code, so only add it on one site). Enter up to 2 soups. Each soup entry makes you eligible to win some of the great prizes from the above sponsors.

Favorite soup recipe … that’s like asking to pick your favorite child! Maybe I can narrow it down to the Top 100 …

Burned out our immersion blender a while ago, and got a very nice Cuisinart replacement from the in-laws for Christmas. In danger of burning it up as much as we’re using it. Trying to figure out if there’s anything that can’t be turned into soup with enough blending horsepower.

    Cheers!

I made a creamy cauliflower soup tonight from American’s Test Kitchen. I “healthified” it a bit, and my boys (hubby included) said “it’s a keeper.” It was amazing! So healthy, so delicious… and sort of easy. I’ll be posting it on Feb 15th to my blog!

We eat soup almost every day and it will be pretty hard to choose the favorites! This is a great idea even without the prizes. Looking forward to reading what other bloggers like to make.

Love this idea because soup is one of my favorite things about this time of year, including a warm fire in the fireplace, hot drinks like coffee and apple cider, and soft warm fuzzy socks! Looking forward to finding some awesome new soup recipes, as well as participating with one from The Chef!
