Oreo Ice Cream recipe from the Savory Sweet Life Cookbook.
4 Ingredient Oreo Cookie Ice Cream

I’ve been sitting on this cookbook for a couple of months now. Not because I don’t like it. Quite the contrary. The Savory Sweet Life Cookbook is a gorgeous book, full of wonderful stories accompanied by family-friendly, unique recipes.

I’ve sat on the cookbook because I know how difficult it is to write and stay focused when you are faced with the loss of a loved one. I’ve tried many times to wrap my head around the beautiful piece of work Alice Currah created, knowing that through it all she was dealing with the sudden death of her father. If nothing else, Alice’s cookbook is proof that even through tragedy, you can be inspired to soldier on with a loved one pushing you on and holding you up from afar.

The Savory Sweet Life Cookbook is a work of love. It’s obvious Alice poured her heart and soul into her book, hoping to inspire you and me to embrace what matters most…gathering around the table with the people most important to us.

It’s not often that I sit down and read a cookbook from cover to cover, but Alice’s writing and photos pulled me in, and once open, the book didn’t close again until I had reached the end. This is a great cookbook for cooks of all ages and levels. If you don’t have it you should definitely add this one to your collection.

The recipe for Oreo Ice Cream that I’m sharing today is just one of many simple recipes you will find. Only 4 ingredients, this Oreo Ice Cream recipe is so creamy and delicious, you’ll want to make it all summer long!

And now, for the Oreo Ice Cream recipe!

I’m such a huge fan of this book. I was thrilled to get a review copy and it is one of my favorites from this year. With that being said, I think my mother would love a copy of it as well, so that’s what I would do with it if I won.

Additionally, I have to say how much I adore this ice cream! Seriously wow!

I haven’t bought a cookbook in years due to A) I get most of my recipes online now and B) because we move every 4 years and I try my best to keep things down to a minimum. That being said you make me want this book and I’d love to own it. It looks like a keeper, and I’ve only kept 5 of the huge pile of cookbooks I had when I pared down. Can’t wait to try this ice cream!!

The truth is, I have purchased this book, tried several recipes in it even. But I have given it away. Then I bought two more as gifts for others. I still don’t have one for myself. It really is a nice cookbook. The photographs are great, the recipes easy. The Nutella Molten Lava Cakes made way more than we needed, but discovered that nuking one for 15 seconds works…still molten middles! The Cinnamon Rolls were very good, as were the Chocolate Chip Cookies and the Ribs.

I tried the ice cream recipe tonight and my coconut milk kept separating and turned out a little weird texture-wise. It tasted ok. I’m wondering if I need to warm up the coconut milk first so it all becomes homogeneous? I used half as many crushed oreos and that was a good amount for us. Thanks for the recipe!

    Hello!

Thanks so much for holding a giveaway! You really don’t know what it means to me! Your doing such a nice thing by giving away something for free, and giving many people a opportunity! Anyways, why I would like to win this cookbook is because I have been getting cookbooks from the library lately, and experimenting with different dishes, by obtaining this cookbook, I can make more new dishes and pour myself over all the delectable pages! Oh, I can just imagine it already!

    Good luck everyone!
