A simple Ice Cream Sandwich Dessert made with store-bought ice cream sandwiches.

Graphic with an ice cream sandwich layer dessert topped with whipped cream on a white plate.Did anyone out there watch Grey’s Anatomy last night? Surely they are just teasing the viewers, aren’t they? I mean, seriously, if a show is named after your character, you’d think that would guarantee you some sort of job security, right? They can’t kill off Meredith.

You can bet I’ll be glued to the TV next week to find out what the “devastating conclusion” is. Seeing Dr McDreamy all torn up….*sigh*. Watching McSteamy and Alex show their more sensitive sides…*sigh*. Hearing Cristina talk about how Meredith is her “person”… *sigh*. Although gross, watching Izzy regain her status as a surgeon and getting off probation will even be good. Grey’s Anatomy is such a great show. I’m just a bit obsessed.

The show theme last night was all about disappearing. If you disappeared and suddenly went missing, would anyone notice? Would your lack of presence cause anyone to stop and wonder where you were?

I would like to think that I would be missed. My children would wonder where that crazy woman is that makes their breakfast, drives them to school and tucks them in at night. My husband would miss me, although he would probably survive a lot better than I’d like to admit. I have family and friends that would miss me too. Neighbors would miss the random baked goods that show up at their door on a weekly basis. I would be missed.

Ice Cream Sandwich Dessert Seduction

I know that one thing my entire family misses once it disappears is anything made with ice cream. If I want my husband to do something for me or if I want to seduce him into thinking something might be a good idea, the answer is ice cream. If I want to get on his good side, I make something with ice cream. Add chocolate, caramel and whipped cream and the man is pretty much putty in my hands.

One dessert that more than does the trick is Ice Cream Sandwich dessert. This is one of those desserts that you take places and everyone asks for the recipe. I’m typically embarrassed to give the recipe out because it is so incredibly easy.  I mean you pretty much layer store-bought ice cream sandwiches in a pan, add a few toppings and you’ve got the best ice cream sandwich dessert there is.

Once this yummy dessert disappears, you’ll have people falling all over themselves to seduce you into making more. That is why the Ice Cream Sandwich dessert is my entry into this months Sugar High Friday, theme “Sweet Seduction”. Sugar High Friday is always full of amazing sweets so check it out if you need some help seducing someone you love!

Make desserts like this easy ice cream dessert and I guarantee, if you were to disappear, you would be missed. Here’s the recipe…use it to seduce someone you love!

THAT’S ON MY LIST! I would miss you but I would hope that my cat would miss me (more than for the fact that no one was feeding her).

I would miss you, too, but sometimes I feel the weight coming on just reading your lucious recipes. Remember Joan’s ice cream dessert? Do you still have the recipe for that? Oh, well, I will just have to settle for a Dove chocolate covered almond ice cream bar for now.

This reminds me of the summer when I made this dessert, everyone loved it, and yours looks so good! I would miss you for desserts such as this! I wouldn’t miss the calories though! ;0)

The promise of Ice Cream can probably get me to do just about anything. Even though I am lactose intolerant, I will endure the bloating and the pain for the right flavor.

I have become quite fond of Mochi Icecream and Tofutti, which are a little easier on my tummy.

You (and your "soon to be putty" husband), might really enjoy this book from one of my favorite chefs, Emily Luchetti – "A Passion for Ice Cream"

I will be making this recipe the next time I have people over (to share the calories, of course). 🙂

I saw that picture and thought "Oh my, what a complicated looking, fancy dessert" then I scrolled down. Wow. I’ve seen that recipe on paper, but didn’t realize how delicious it looked. Now I have to make it. It would be really good with homemade fudge sauce.

My cats would miss me. And Griffin, and of course Mike. It’s not hard to remember a time though when I was like Addison, wondering who would notice if I just disappeared. A sad thought.

I would miss you Kristen. Without you I would have no one to write hysterical and totally irrational emails too after each Grey’s episode!! And of course….Meredith is NOT going to die. Next weeks episode is called ‘Some kind of miracle’

    I can’t wait!

I dont watch that show but as I was falling asleep last night I was wondering just that (and was wondering WHY I was wondering that! Must have been psychic backwash from all you people watching it *winks*)

I lay in bed wondering if my husband could figure out how to open my image files, close out my flickr account, and if he would be able to (after the awfulness of my dying passed) put some sort of note up on my blog to tell the three people who actually read it that I would not be posting anymore.. talk about morbid thoughts!

I loved this entry! Good eatin’, and good writin’, too.

When I watched that episode of Grey’s Anatomy, all I had to say was, "If that little girl with the braids ends up being imaginary, like an angel or something, I’m never watching this show again." And I mean it! I am just THAT ruthless with my viewing.

Of course, it was only the second time I’ve watched that show, so it isn’t much of a threat yet.

I found your blog by reading somebody else’s that I don’t remember now, but I love it! I am new to KCMO and I’m also a foodie! I haven’t found that many great resturant’s yet. I also love Grey’s Anatomy!!! What is going on???? That can’t be true! They can’t be killing her! I am shocked actually! I hope she comes back to life this next week! I love researching recipes so that would be why I love your blog! Let me know if you have some great places to eat here. Thanks! I have just started blogging and I don’t really know what I’m doing yet. The people at Apple are going to help me,I hope. I love the Plaza!
    Many Blessings!

I always thought the title, "Grey’s Anatomy", could be percieved in two ways. One, Meredith’s last name of course, and 2, it is the name of the greatest medical handbook~~updated every year I believe. So if they WERE to kill Meredith, I suppose they could claim the show was named for the BOOK and not the woman:) Glad to see they kept her around though:)
